Global Second-hand Vessel Market Remains Prosperous in 2026, Compliant Vessels Highly Sought-after

According to the mid-year shipping report from Clarksons Research, the total value of global second-hand vessel transactions reached USD 35 billion in H1 2026. The second-hand ship price index rose by 12%, hitting the highest level since October 2008. Shipowners from China and Greece remain the most active buyers.

Driven by IMO CII and EEXI environmental regulations, older vessels failing to meet energy efficiency standards are being phased out. Meanwhile, newbuilding slots are tight with long lead times. Pre-owned vessels with proper certificates, qualified carbon performance and quick delivery become the priority choice for fleet expansion.

We provide full-range second-hand ship brokerage service, including vessel inspection, due diligence, MOA negotiation and delivery consultation, covering bulk carriers, tankers, workboats and fishing processing vessels. We verify vessel ownership and seaworthiness to mitigate transaction risks.
