Rules for boat routine maintenance

1. Daily fresh water cleaning

The boat is moored in the water with high humidity and salt content, and it is very easy to form salt crystallization on its surface. This crystal layer has the effect of accelerating the aging of gelcoat surface under the light. Therefore, the boat should be washed with fresh water every day or every two days to wash away the salt crystallization and dust on the surface. In addition, bird droppings contain chemicals that can damage the gelcoat, so it should be cleaned promptly.

After each cleaning, should be immediately with a dry cloth to dry the hull (especially stainless steel parts, as well as the glass part), if the water to dry naturally, easy to leave water stains, these water stains will be difficult to completely clean.

2. Polishing and waxing of the whole ship (to be completed before mid-April each year)

The working environment of sailing ships is relatively harsh, enduring the comprehensive effect of sea water, sunshine, dust, wind and rain for a long time. In order to slow down the oxidative aging of gelcoat on the surface of sailboat, the surface of sailboat should be polished and waxed every year. Uniform high-quality wax film can effectively isolate the erosion of seawater, air and dust on gelcoat. Reshine the surface of the boat.

Maintenance procedure:

① Clean the hull and dry it

② According to the damage of gelcoat on hull surface, choose coarse wax/fine wax polishing

③ Rinse and wipe clean

④ Polish with protective wax

3, indoor maintenance

Due to human activities and the humid environment, the interior of sailing boats also needs regular professional maintenance to ensure the quality of indoor furniture and clean indoor environment, as well as mold infestation.

① When the sailing boat is not in use, indoor sanitation is cleaned once a week, mainly for dust removal and garbage cleaning.

(2) every half a year to the indoor furniture and floor waxing maintenance.

③ Carpet: The carpet in the cabin is cleaned once a week with a vacuum cleaner, and cleaned professionally every six months to remove bacteria, dust and food residue, stains and so on.

4. Sail cleaning (for sailboats)

Sail and hull, is also in a salty and wet environment for a long time, if not cleaned for a long time, the salt crystallization in its crease, will cause a certain degree of erosion on the sail, so every once in a while, the sail will be cleaned once. When cleaning, use a neutral cleaning solution, after cleaning, dry the sail, cool dry, put away.

5. Clean the bottom of the ship

Because the hull is in the water for a long time, there will be sea creatures attached to the bottom of the ship, which not only reduces speed, but also causes fuel loss. Therefore, the bottom of the ship should be cleaned regularly. Sailboats are usually hauled ashore before the peak season each year to clean their bottom fixtures and apply antifouling paint to the bottom of the boat below the waterline before launching

6. Clean and prevent the ball from touching
